Description

The story is a parody of the Barrymore family actors, with particular aim taken at John Barrymore and Ethel Barrymore. The character Tony Cavendish, a heavy-drinking womanizer, represents John Barrymore. Julie Cavendish is the prima donna Broadway star Ethel Barrymore. Ethel Barrymore was offended and her critical comments were quoted by the press; however John Barrymore saw the production in Los Angeles and was amused, and congratulated Fredric March on his performance as Tony Cavendish.

Biography

Jay is excited to be in his second Summer Rep performance at the Alliance Theatre Acting Program. He has been seen in over a dozen plays around Atlanta including his role as Frankie Salvucci in Breaking Legs for which he was nominated Best Minor Supporting Actor in a Play by the Metropolitan Atlanta Theater Awards. Jay would like to thank BJ Hughes and Pat Hurley for casting him in this great play. He would especially like to thank his wife Tammy and their 5 kids (felines) for letting him pursue his love of acting.
